The Eggless Sweet Wheat Flour Polle / Pancakes is another recipe born out of boredom, of being locked in the house, of deliberately trying to cook with limited supplies in Lockdown 2.0 of the Covid-19 Pandemic which is currently on in India. Making these polles will take very little of your time and then you can go back to doing what you were doing – which is what most of us are doing – nothing serious 🙂
Yield: 5 to 6 Mins.
Prep. Time: 5 Mins. + Standing
Cooking Time: 4 to 5 Mins. each
[ Standard Measure : 1 cup = 250 ml ]
- Wheat Flour – 1 cup
- Brown Sugar – ½ cup
- Milk – 1 cup
- Cardamom Powder – ½ tsp.
- Ghee – 4 tsp.
Step 1: Take the flour, sugar and milk and whisk to make a smooth batter without any lumps.
Step 2: Add the cardamom and a little water (about 2 to 3 tbsp.) to get a consistency as shown in the picture. Then leave aside for ½ hour.
Step 3: Later, heat a pan and spread 1 tsp. ghee. Pour a ladle-full of batter and spread. Cook on low heat uncovered for about 2 minutes (till the edges turn golden) and then flip over and cook for another 2 minutes. Serve hot / warm. You will specially love the crisp caramelized edges. Enjoy these simple polle!
