Goan Lady Fish Rawa Pepper Fried

Everyone loves fried fish and so here’s another recipe for fried fish. Although it is advised that eating fried fish is not good for health, I would suggest indulging sometimes in between. After all, eating fish is healthier than eating any other fried junk food. So go ahead and try the Goan lady fish rawa pepper fry ASAP.

Serves: 2 to 3 Persons

Prep. Time: 10 Mins.

Cooking Time: 12 to 15 Mins.

Ingredients:

  • Ladyfish [Mudoshe – Goan Name)] (whole – cleaned) – 6 medium (about 12 cm long)
  • Pepper (coarsely ground) – 1 tbsp.
  • Turmeric – ½ tsp.
  • Egg White – 1
  • Fine Rice Flour – 2 tbsp.
  • Semolina – 2 tbsp.
  • Oil – 3 tbsp.
  • Salt – 1 tsp. or to taste

Step 1:     Wash and drain the fish well. Make slits on either side as you see in the pictures. Apply salt and turmeric powder and leave aside for 15 minutes.

Step 2:     Later, drain the water that is collected and apply pepper powder and then the egg white. Mix well and keep aside for another 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 3:     Mix the rice flour, rawa and a pinch of salt and place on a flat plate. Place a frying pan on low heat and heat the oil.

Step 4:     Roll each fish in the rawa-rice flour mixture and shallow fry on each side for 3 to 4 minutes till the fish is nice and crisp.
